Rare moth spotted for first time in 50 years
Rare forester moth, unseen for 50 years, was discovered by wildlife enthusiast Fiona Hutchings in Essex. The moth, with a wingspan of up to 2.9cm, was last sighted in 1974 and prefers specific habitats. Hutchings and a fellow club member photographed and released the moth back into the wild, celebrating the rare find with a glass of bubbly. This remarkable discovery has stunned members of the Essex Field Club, opening new opportunities for conservation efforts in the area.
