Promoted Wrexham to start season at Southampton

Wrexham plays first second-tier match in 43 years against Southampton on 9 August as Birmingham City and Leicester City also kick off Championship season. Charlton Athletic returns to Championship against Watford managed by Paulo Pezzolano, while Sheffield United faces Bristol City. The new season sees Leicester City marking 10-year anniversary of their Premier League title with a final-day trip to Blackburn on 2 May, 2026.
