Post-Brexit £51m border control post to sit empty

The Welsh government has announced that the £51m border control post near Holyhead port in Anglesey, built for post-Brexit checks, will remain empty. Despite receiving funding for construction and completion, the facility might not be needed due to a new UK-EU deal that could eliminate the need for many checks on imports. Wales' Deputy First Minister stated that the site will be kept under review until final details of the agreement are known, and plans for its use will depend on the outcome of the UK's deal with the EU.
