Porn site traffic plummets as UK age verification rules enforced

Pornhub and other leading adult websites experienced significant drops in traffic in the UK following the enforcement of enhanced age verification rules under the Online Safety Act. According to data from Similarweb, Pornhub's traffic declined by 47% between 24 July and 8 August. Concurrently, XVideos and OnlyFans also saw decreases in traffic, while some smaller, less-regulated sites saw increases. The age verification rules aim to prevent under-18s from accessing explicit material, but critics warn that it may push users toward more extreme content on less regulated platforms.
