More rules being considered to keep children safe online

The UK government is considering additional measures to enhance online safety for children, with new age-verification rules set to come into effect soon. These regulations, overseen by Ofcom, will focus on stricter age verification methods for internet users under 18 and implementing a new code of practice to filter out harmful content from children's online feeds. Ofcom's boss highlighted the need for further legal powers to address the evolving impact of artificial intelligence on online safety. Labour has pledged to build on existing regulations but is yet to introduce additional legislation.
