Before their 54-7 victory over Western Force, the Perth stadium announcer tried to troll the British and Irish Lions by calling out the tourists born in the southern hemisphere. Highlighting players' origins in humorous terms, the announcer referenced Aussie, Kiwi, and South African connections in the Lions squad. Despite the banter, New Zealand-born winger James Lowe, who started for the Maori All Blacks against the Lions in 2017, took it in stride, suggesting more Kiwi or South African players could join the Lions for a running joke.
