The Louvre museum heist, involving the theft of jewelry worth €88m, was carried out by petty criminals from an impoverished area near Paris, the city's prosecutor revealed. Four suspects, hailing from Seine-Saint-Denis, have been arrested and charged in connection with the theft. Two of them have a history of theft convictions, and additional suspects are still being pursued by authorities. The incident has shocked both France and the international community.
