Legendary umpire Bird dies aged 92

Dickie Bird, the beloved cricket umpire from Barnsley, has passed away at home. Bird, a former player at Yorkshire and Leicestershire, transitioned into a successful umpiring career, overseeing 66 Tests and earning a spot as one of Yorkshire's greatest characters. He was known for his unique instances on the field and was honored with a life-size statue in Barnsley town center.
