IOC moves closer to ban on transgender women
Published: 11/10/2025

The International Olympic Committee is considering a ban on transgender women from competing in female sports categories. IOC president, Kirsty Coventry, has expressed intentions to implement this change as part of her platform. Reports suggest that the ban could be announced as early as next year, although the IOC has clarified that discussions are ongoing with no final decisions made yet. However, the likelihood of a ban being implemented is high despite the current status of the discussions.
