'Hero' who wrestled gun from Bondi shooter named as Ahmed al Ahmed

Ahmed al Ahmed, a 43-year-old fruit shop owner and father of two, was hailed as a hero for wresting a gun from one of the Bondi Beach shooters. In a video verified by the BBC, Mr Ahmed is seen seizing the weapon and forcing the gunman to retreat, receiving bullet wounds to his arm and hand in the process. The shooting, declared a terrorist incident by police, resulted in 15 deaths and numerous injuries during a Hanukkah celebration.
