Heat health alerts issued ahead of third UK heatwave

The UK is bracing for its third heatwave of the summer, with forecasts suggesting it could be the most widespread and sustained yet. Heat health alerts have been issued for some areas of England, where temperatures could exceed heatwave criteria for up to seven days. High pressure building will bring plenty of sunshine and hot air from continental Europe, leading to temperatures peaking at 33C (91F) in England over the weekend, affecting Wales, Northern Ireland, and Scotland as well.
