Golden eagles soaring south back to English skies

Golden eagles, previously extinct in England, are returning from the Scottish Borders and Dumfries and Galloway, with sightings in Northumberland sparking hope for nesting. The South of Scotland Golden Eagle Project has played a crucial role in this resurgence by translocating young eagles to encourage their population growth. Future possibilities include establishing a golden eagle population in areas like the Lake District and Northumberland, with the eagles exploring new territories aided by satellite tagging.
