Forest fulcrum Robertson - 'a talented, highly skilled, unbelievable outside-left'
Former Nottingham Forest player John Robertson, known as "the Picasso of our game" by legendary manager Brian Clough, has passed away at 72. Robertson's hidden talent flourished under Clough, helping Forest secure multiple titles in the late 1970s and early 1980s. His pivotal role in the team's success included winning the European Cup in 1979 and 1980, along with a bitter fallout between Clough and his managerial partner Peter Taylor over Robertson's transfer to Derby County. Despite his scruffy appearance, Robertson's skill and contribution to Forest's achievements will be fondly remembered.
