Food delivery apps like Deliveroo, Uber Eats, and Just Eat are enhancing security checks to prevent illegal workers, including asylum seekers, from using others' accounts to work illegally. The companies will implement stricter facial verification and fraud detection measures to ensure that only registered account holders can work on their platforms. This move follows concerns that some individuals, including migrants residing in government asylum hotels, have been earning money through these delivery apps illegally. The tighter checks will be rolled out within the next 90 days.
