Family hubs to open in every council in England
Published: 7/6/2025

Every council in England will open family hubs, part of the £500 million plan to support 500,000 children in disadvantaged areas, offering parenting support and youth services. The initiative revived the concept of "Sure Start" centres from the early 2000s, aimed at assisting young families with early education, childcare, and health advice. Despite some skepticism about what's genuinely new, the government aims to have family hubs in every local authority by April 2026 and up to 1,000 hubs by the end of 2028, linking families to essential services and social care for better life chances.
