Ex-poker player Bord is preferred Sheff Wed bidder

Former professional poker player James Bord is set to take over Sheffield Wednesday, as confirmed by BBC Sport. The Championship club has been in administration since October. Bord, who won millions in poker, is involved in sports analytics and owns data company Short Circuit Science. His bid still needs to pass the EFL's Owners and Directors' test, but it exceeds EFL rules' minimum requirements for creditors, ensuring the club won't start next season with points deductions.
