EU sending wildfire help to Spain as death toll rises

The European Union is sending two planes to assist Spain in combating wildfires as the death toll rises. The EU disaster assistance mechanism was activated for the first time in Spain. The country faces a heatwave with temperatures predicted to exceed 44C, increasing the risk of further spread of wildfires. Other European countries like Greece, Bulgaria, Montenegro, and Albania have also requested EU help amidst scorching temperatures and ongoing wildfires.
