Dentists to prioritise urgent care and save some patients more than £200 under plans

The British government plans to prioritize urgent dental care and save patients money on complex treatments by introducing new incentives for longer-term care in NHS dentistry. Under the proposed changes to the dental contract, patients requiring multiple appointments for complicated treatments could save up to £225, aiming to address the ongoing issue of limited access to NHS dentists in some areas of England. Despite these reforms, the British Dental Association warns that without additional funding and substantial systemic changes, the current challenges in NHS dentistry may persist.
