Vascular surgeon Neil Hopper, who had his legs amputated after performing amputation operations, faces fraud charges for allegedly making false claims to insurers and encouraging limb removal. Hopper appeared before Cornwall Magistrates' Court in Bodmin and has been remanded into custody to appear at Truro Crown Court. The charges against him also include encouraging others to remove body parts, unrelated to his professional conduct as per the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust. Former patients concerned about their treatments are advised to contact the hospital's patient experience team.
