BP names new boss as current CEO leaves after less than two years
BP appoints Meg O'Neill as new CEO, the first woman to lead a major global oil firm, replacing Murray Auchincloss who stepped down after less than two years due to predecessor Bernard Looney's "serious misconduct." O'Neill, previously with Woodside Energy, will take over on April 1. O'Neill plans to focus on market leadership, safety, innovation, and sustainability in her new role. Former CEO Looney was dismissed for failing to disclose personal relationships, forfeiting £32.4m in salary and benefits.
