Bonfire Night's Beaver supermoon to be biggest and brightest of 2025
Published: 11/2/2025

The Moon's elliptical orbit means its distance from Earth varies - at perigee, it's around 220,000 miles away, while at apogee, it's about 250,000 miles away. A 'supermoon' occurs when the full Moon is within 90% of perigee, appearing larger and brighter. The upcoming Beaver Moon in November will be the brightest and largest full Moon of the year, as it coincides with its closest point to Earth.
