Boaters stranded for Christmas after canal collapse

Dozens of boaters were left stranded for Christmas after a collapse in the Llangollen Canal in Shropshire. The embankment collapse in Whitchurch led to two boats stranded in a deep trench, with others stuck on dry canal beds. The Canal and River Trust is working to repair the damage, with no injuries reported, offering support and emergency accommodation to affected boaters.
