More than 100 top British athletes, including Sir Mo Farah and Dame Kelly Holmes, have penned a letter to Prime Minister Keir Starmer supporting London's bid to host the 2029 World Athletics Championships. The bid aims to bring the event to the London Stadium and requires public funding in 2028 for a projected £400m economic impact. The athletes hope that hosting the Championships will not only showcase top talent but also inspire a new generation to engage with athletics, building on the legacy of the successful 2012 and 2017 events. The 2029 bid process is set to start soon, with a call for government commitment to securing the Championships in the UK.
