At least 180 aircrew pursuing Ministry of Defence after cancer diagnoses

At least 180 current and former armed forces aircrew with cancer, possibly caused by exposure to toxic fumes in helicopters, are seeking compensation from the UK Ministry of Defence. Some individuals, like RAF flight sergeant Zach Stubbings, who passed away in January, have received settlements, although the MoD hasn't admitted liability. Advocates are urging the MoD to protect current and former aircrew, with one law firm pursuing claims relating to various military aircraft, including the Sea King, Wessex, Puma, and Chinook models. The MoD is reviewing cancer cases among aircrew and testing exhaust emissions but maintains that engine exhaust emissions pose no risk to health.
