A massive prehistoric structure, possibly one of the largest in Britain, has been uncovered near Stonehenge at Durrington Walls in Wiltshire. These Neolithic pits, 10 meters in diameter and over 5 meters deep, are believed to be man-made and over 4,000 years old. Research published in the Internet Archaeology Journal reveals that the pits were intricately aligned, reflecting ancient belief systems and cosmology. DNA analysis of samples from the pits showed remains of sheep and cattle, helping experts date the site over 1,000 years.
