Tube fares to go up by 5.8% in 2026

London Tube fares will increase by 5.8% in 2026 as part of a funding deal with the government, confirmed by Mayor Sadiq Khan. The rise, above inflation, will affect services on the London Underground, Overground, and Elizabeth line starting in March. While bus and tram fares will remain frozen until July 2026, increases in pay-as-you-go Tube fares will be capped at 20p, with some rising by just 10p to support those on lower incomes. This move has faced criticism from City Hall Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats for burdening Londoners amid a national fare freeze.
