Carbon capture project 'to boost hundreds of jobs'
Chancellor Rachel Reeves announced a £59.6m project to create a carbon capture pipeline for cement and lime factories in Derbyshire, Staffordshire, and the North West. This initiative will generate approximately 300 jobs in the Peak District, with an additional 1,200 temporary roles during the pipeline's construction. The Peak Cluster project aims to prevent over three million tonnes of CO2 emissions annually, contributing to the UK's clean energy transition and supporting around 13,000 jobs across various industries.
