Assaults on rail network more than triple in 10 years

Assaults on the rail network have more than tripled in the last 10 years, reaching over 10,000 reported incidents in the past year. Harassment and common assaults make up the majority of these reported assaults. The British Transport Police launched the 'Speak Up, Interrupt' campaign to address inappropriate behavior, while efforts are being made to improve safety for passengers and workers through training and technology investments.
